Why Locals Love RM Soto Banjar H. Munsi

Nestled along the serene riverside of Palangka Raya, RM Soto Banjar H. Munsi offers an authentic taste of traditional Banjar cuisine that truly captivates the senses. This diner specializes in Soto Banjar, a beloved Indonesian soup famed for its rich, aromatic broth and tender chicken pieces. Each spoonful delivers a harmonious blend of spices that dance on your palate, perfectly embodying the heritage of Kalimantan Tengah’s culinary artistry.

Popular among locals and visitors alike, the soto here enchants with its depth of flavor—subtle yet unforgettable. Customer Rara Sri Windhu captures this sentiment perfectly, expressing how the taste leaves an addictive impression that lingers delightfully in the mouth. Beyond the signature soto, RM Soto Banjar H. Munsi also serves a memorable chicken satay, uniquely accompanied by a peanut sauce infused with a distinctive cinnamon note. This unexpected twist elevates the dish, leaving a lasting impression on diners accustomed to more conventional flavors, as noted by Mohammad Fuady.

The dining atmosphere strikes a pleasing balance between traditional charm and modern comfort. The space is well-maintained, pristinely clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering air-conditioned rooms for those seeking a respite from the tropical warmth. Raynaldi Adilasta’s review highlights this aspect, emphasizing the neat environment which enhances the overall dining experience. The location by the river adds a tranquil backdrop that complements the hearty, warming dishes.

While RM Soto Banjar H. Munsi leans toward the pricier side, the quality and authenticity it delivers justify every rupiah. Thomas Setiabudi Aden’s appreciation for the delicious traditional fare in this scenic setting echoes the sentiments of many who cherish enduring culinary traditions. For those in Palangka Raya eager to immerse themselves in the genuine flavors of Banjar cuisine, this restaurant promises not just a meal but a heartfelt cultural experience.

Good place to eat traditional banjar Soto. It is very clean and neat. They even have a room with air conditioner. So, if you are looking for a comfy place to eat soto banjar, you can come here.

That was my first time I tasted Soto Banjar. Don't have any benchmark, but I can tell you that was delicious! The chicken and "perkedel" combined with ketupat (traditional steamed rice) served with yellowish sauce.

They have big space so if you come of a group of people, this resto should be considered. However, the food is so-so. But it's tasteful

The soto banjar has more variance and better taste than the one in Banjarmasin which is too sweet imho.
